8TH GRADE STUDENTS LAY DOWN THE LAW!

The following is a newsletter produced by the CRMS 8th grade student council:

WHO ARE WE?
The 8th grade Student Council was selected by our peers and teachers to come up with a plan to decrease disciplinary write-ups for this semester. On Friday, January 30th we also talked about why so many write-ups existed.

A meeting with our 8th grade teachers was held on Tuesday, February 3rd, to present our ideas. A good discussion came out of this with agreement that a new disciplinary plan for 8th graders needed to be introduced starting Friday, February 9th.
Beginning today, all category A writeups will now be written as category B. During in-team suspension, you will fill out a special packet. For ITS, teachers may move us around from class to class if they deem that to be necessary and appropriate for our learning.

All misbehavior for a substitute will immediately go to a category C writeup. That means the student will be sent home. This is due to the number of writeups for misbehaving for a substitute we have created since last semester.

As we move from one class to another, we will not be tardy. We need to make it to class on time and stop the tardies.

This plan is in effect for all 8th graders. Please think before you act. Our teachers are putting lots of work and effort in making our 8th grade celebration (prom) take place. They are spending lots of hours after school working concessions and working karaoke during lunch to raise money for this. They want to know we truly want and deserve it.

HOW CAN YOU GIVE US YOUR IDEAS AND INPUT?

We are going to start something new at CRMS. A suggestion box will be placed in each 8th grade teacher's classroom so you can give us your opinions and ideas to bring up for our next meeting. We want to make our school better!
